Another long hot day on the excellent French roads. We drove out of Le Mans eventually as the ring road was being dug up and resisted the temptation to try and match the racing cars on the Mulsanne straight of the Le Mans 24 hour circuit which is the public road to Tours the remainder of the year. Made a decision to use the RN roads not the motorways both to save high toll fees and to see as much of the countryside as possible. Drove from Le Mans through Tours, Poitiers and Angouleme to Bordeaux arriving on an extremly busy city motorway network in the rush hour. Really exciting, really. Another night in a Formula 1 hotel like an upmarket youth hostel really. On via Bayonne into Spain hopefully by early afternoon tomorrow.
