Happy birthday Paul; we toasted it with red wine and a beautifully boiled up pasta meal on the gas stove. A fantastic walk today. We drove up the Aspe valley to the Col de Somport, within a sneeze of the Spanish border and climbed up through forested slopes to the Lac D'Estany, crossing the border on the way. It must have been moving sheep day, we came across two flocks in transit, one along the road on the drive in. We were highly amused at a carload of Belgian tourists photographing them for all they were worth; they mustn't have sheep in Belgium...A cloudless blue sky meant the views were amazing. An interesting descent down from a col, using the ironwork in place from the hydro-electric station. OK provided you didn't look down.
